Tamara - Bridal boudoir/a beautiful story
When inquiring for a boudoir on my website, a question I ask is, “What is one thing you love about yourself?” I think this is such an important question to ask before embarking on the boudoir, self-love, self-empowerment experience. And to be honest, this question isn’t for me. As much as I absolutely love reading all the answers… this question is for you. As someone who captures self love of all shapes and sizes, I think it’s important for your mind set to know and embrace something you love about yourself in order to get the high that comes with this session. Everyone has insecurities and things they don’t love about themselves. Boudoir is not about removing that, it’s about loving and embracing it. Easier said than done, I know. But if you focus on things you love, instead of things you hate, you will truly shine from within.
This is Tamara. Her inquiry melted my heart. When answering the question of what she loves about herself, this was her response:
“I would like to make an album to give to my fiancé on our wedding day. I am my own worst critic, and I am far from kind to my body most of the time. He is always my biggest supporter, and never misses an opportunity to tell me how beautiful he thinks I am. I’m hoping that this photo shoot can help me feel as beautiful as he sees me. I love my capacity for kindness and empathy. I am both a kidney donor (my fiancé was the recipient) and a recently-graduated veterinarian. The difference that these two things have made for others definitely brings me to tears quite often haha. I’d actually really like to highlight my scars in a few of my photos, because they have literally allowed me to have the life I have today.”
If this answer doesn’t give you shivers up your spine, I don’t know what will. This answer is what boudoir is all about and I SERIOUSLY cannot stress that enough. Tamara’s soul shined from within and I felt that throughout my time with her.
